Sinead - BPPV + Epley manoeuvre

Will - hydrofluoric acid burn managed with calcium gluconate gel

Britt - hemorrhagic thyroid cyst causing airway compression

Elise - atrial flutter cardioversion

Formal Presentation - Brittney Wicksteed - Vasopressor tour de force

Britt provided an overview of vasopressors and organised some interactive mix-and-match activities. We collectively scoffed at Big Pharma share price speculation (hello La Jolla with Angiotensin II) and talked about Bayesian analysis as an alternative method of statistical analysis.

Sepsis discussions overtook the conversation and we looked at peripheral perfusion vs lactate guided management.

Journal club

We did a rapid-review of the CACTUS study looking at placebo vs LMWH in below knee DVT. The group consensus was that we would approach all patients individually but had a high threshold to do anything other than wait and see. There was no consensus about the time for repeat ultrasound, with ideas ranging from 2 weeks to never.
