Sports Medicine
Russell did an absolutely brilliant job deconstructing the confusing nomenclature surrounding tendon pathologies. Take home points in tendonopathy include:
NSAIDs - no role
Rest - more than a few days no good
Corticosteroids - no role
Dry needling —> may help
Sclerosants —> probably not
GTN patch —> maybe
Exercise therapy —> yes please - eccentric exercises
Tendonopathy appears to be the new bursitis.
